THE SACRED CAMALDOLI SANCTUARY
The sacred sanctuary of Camaldoli, found immersed in the century old abbey and formed by the Camaldolesi monks in the beginning of 1012 (presumed date), can be reached by car from the Lucatello Farm in around 30 minutes
You will cross through the small villages of Lonnano or Casalino and the marvelous beechwood forest, following someof the most famous parts of the Road of Woods, so called for the tree trunks that would line the area all the way to the river while on their way to be sent to Florence (fluvial road for transport).
And don ‘t miss the Camaldoli Antique Pharmacy of the 1500’s and the church where Giorgio Vasari's canvases can be admired.

CHIUSI DELLA VERNA
It is a religious place, internationally renowned. Its notoriety is linked to the life of St. Francis of Assisi: indeed, here he received the Stigmata.
La Verna Sanctuary has a great heritage of artistic, historical and religious evidences: first of all, Andrea della Robbia's masterpieces. To visit: the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, the museum of the Sanctuary, the Basilica, the Church of Stigmata, the convent and Sasso Spicco.
